GGI Internships: Why They’re Awesome and How You Can Help!
In order to run our annual paid, summer internship program, GGI is seeking donors & sponsors!
What are GGI Internships? The GGI Internship program benefits both our youth participants as well as environmental outcomes.
Through the GGI’s annual summer internship program, high school and college students pursue high-impact projects in 
environmental policy and sustainability infrastructure — with a focus on real results in local projects like:
- waste reduction,
- water quality & conservation,
- energy conservation, &
- food quality.
GGI Interns participate in a 7-week paid, program of rigorous skills training and project-based learning, culminating in real-world deliverables advancing environmental health, safety, and sustainability.
Highlights from Past Internships:
- Waste Reduction & Diversion (Summer 2021)
- Our 2021 interns created a comprehensive outreach campaign to empower their communities to reduce their climate impact and comply with waste regulations
- Water Conservation & Outreach (Summer 2020)
- Our 2020 interns created a full length documentary titled Hometown Water: the lifeline of Pleasanton, along with their water conservation campaign
- Energy Efficiency (Summer 2019)
- Our 2019 interns focused on energy efficiency by working with Pleasanton Unified School District to benchmark energy usage at all 15 school campuses and 24 City-owned facilities in the district, with the potential to save over $1.6m in energy costs
